TCPconnection.WhenseveralPLCsdothesameitispossiblethatagoodpartoftheon‐airbandwidthisusedupbythe

keepalivetraffic.

WerecommendthattheViperisconfiguredin

routermodeandthatTCPproxyisenabled.TheViperTCPproxyfeaturewill

filterouttheTCP/IPkeepalivemessages.

ThePLCsTCPkeepalivecannotbedisablednoradjusted.RecommendedtoAllen‐Bradley/RockwellAutomationtohavean

optioninthePLCsettingstodisablekeepaliveandhavinguser

settablekeepaliveintervals.Thiscouldpotentiallybecome

availableinfuturereleasesofPLCfirmware.


